Define the material and size
Specify copper or aluminum, the material grade, and the maximum thickness and width. Include a typical part as well as the largest or most difficult part.
Check each process
Cutting, punching, flat bending and edge bending can have different limits. Hole size, edge distance, bend direction and tooling clearance all affect whether a part can be produced.
Consider positioning and handling
Decide how often dimensions repeat and how operators position the workpiece. Servo positioning can assist repeat operations while loading and transfer remain manual.
Request a complete tool package
List round holes, slots, bend radii and special forming requirements. State the daily quantity, available electrical supply and destination with your inquiry.
A stock-size match is only the first check
A 12 × 160 mm drawing lies at the published headline size of the 30-3NC. Its published edge-bending limit is 100 × 10 mm (width × thickness), a separate condition. The headline size alone does not confirm an edge bend on that drawing.
-
Compare material and stock size, then the requested cut, hole and bend separately.
-
Use the complete drawing to review hole diameter, edge distance, bend direction, radius and tool clearance.
-
If width is the limiting dimension, compare the 12 × 200 mm 30-3NC MAX; confirm its operation-specific limits before choosing it.
Use this example to frame your inquiry. Confirm the finished drawing, machine configuration and tools before selecting equipment.
